Kirkjufell - in Game of Thrones, it's snow covered
Got a late start to the day so quite a few people there.
After leaving Kirkjufell, drove to Helgafell only to find it closed.
We probably could have gone around this sign, but it's a sacred site, so no, we didn't go around it.
Looking back at Helgafell
Took a detour up 72 to the Seal Center in Hvammstangi.
Which was closed...missed it by 10 minutes.
Had no idea what this was about, but learned it's wind dried fish.
Wind drying fish started in 1835 and is still popular, which we could see and certainly smell!
Stopped to hang out with the Icelandic horses.
This horse has a "freeze brand" on its back.
Next stop was Kolugljúfur Canyon
So beautiful!
